Mastering Computer Networking

Eng. Mustaf Mohamud , Network and Systems Administrator with IT support at TechMart and lecturer at Netcam Institute of Technology, led an in-person GacaloTech seminar on mastering computer networking. He began with the core ideas students need first how networks actually work, why they fail, and how to think about connectivity before chasing tools or certificates.

The session connected those foundations to real career pathways in networking, systems administration, and IT support. Mustaf explained how university students can move from classroom theory into practical work, and how skills like troubleshooting, documentation, and professional communication matter as much as technical knowledge.

He also looked ahead at where networking is going, then walked through a clear CCNA roadmap what to study, in what order, and how to stay consistent. The seminar was hosted at SIMAD Town Campus on 2 February 2025, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM.

Participants left with a practical picture of networking as a career, not only a course title: core concepts, next steps, and a path toward CCNA.
